Especially with conditions such as various cancers or where patients need long-term care. Though the actual results and the benefits are often debated by medical professionals, most admit that when a patient is in a good place emotionally, it only enhances their treatment. Thus, the popularity of holistic treatments is growing and there is an increasing demand for holistic medical professionals.

Antibiotics Put 142,000 Into Emergency Rooms Each Year

(OMNS, October 13, 2008) The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has just released "the first report ever done on adverse reactions to antibiotics in the United States" on 13 Aug, 2008. (1) This is "the first report ever"? How is that possible? Antibiotics have been widely used since the 1940s. It is astounding that it has taken CDC so long to seriously study the side effects of these drugs. It is now apparent that there have been decades of an undeserved presumption of safety.

Antibiotics can put you in the emergency room. Common antibiotics, the ones most frequently prescribed and regarded as safest, cause nearly half of emergencies due to antibiotics.

The "Expensive Urine" Myth; What About Those "Wasted" Vitamins?

The "Expensive Urine" Myth
What About Those "Wasted" Vitamins?

(OMNS, November 10, 2008) Ever heard this one before? "Your body doesn't absorb extra vitamins. All you get from taking vitamin supplements is expensive urine." Sure you have. And you still will, at websites such as http://www.dietitian.com and http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/67769 . Some people will tell you that any vitamin consumption higher than the lowly RDA is simply a "waste of money."

"Expensive urine." It is an old saw, and one terrific sound byte. Too bad it is also false.

Censored Access To Nutritional Research...

(OMNS 17 Jan 2007) The world's largest medical library is biased, say physicians and educators.
