Antibiotics Put 142,000 Into Emergency Rooms Each Year

(OMNS, October 13, 2008) The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has just released "the first report ever done on adverse reactions to antibiotics in the United States" on 13 Aug, 2008. (1) This is "the first report ever"? How is that possible? Antibiotics have been widely used since the 1940s. It is astounding that it has taken CDC so long to seriously study the side effects of these drugs. It is now apparent that there have been decades of an undeserved presumption of safety.

Antibiotics can put you in the emergency room. Common antibiotics, the ones most frequently prescribed and regarded as safest, cause nearly half of emergencies due to antibiotics.

What About Those "Wasted" Vitamins?

(OMNS, November 10, 2008) Ever heard this one before? "Your body doesn't absorb extra vitamins. All you get from taking vitamin supplements is expensive urine." Sure you have. And you still will, at websites such as http://www.dietitian.com and http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/67769 . Even the BBC has reported it http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/109881.stm. Some people will tell you that any vitamin consumption higher than the lowly RDA is simply a "waste of money."

"Expensive urine." It is an old saw, and one terrific sound byte. Too bad it is also false.

Censored Access To Nutritional Research...

(OMNS 17 Jan 2007) The world's largest medical library is biased, say physicians and educators. The US National Library of Medicine indexes most medical journals, and makes them instantly accessible through NLM's electronic Medline database. However, the peer-reviewed Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, continually published for 41 years, remains conspicuous by its absence from the library's listings.

Improvement of Essential Hypertension After EDTA Intravenous Infusion Treatment

This white male patient was first seen at the Center in 1985 for treatment of angina and essential hypertension. He was 51 years of age with a long history of essential hypertension. He was told at about age 18 that he had "high blood pressure" with a systolic blood pressure of 180 mm/Hg. No treatment was prescribed at that time. The history also revealed that both his mother and father died at age 69 of myocardial infarcton.
