Green juice. red juice, yellow juice, and more.... You never know what color your juice will be in the end, unless you add beets. The red is overpowering! Sometimes it's pretty, sometimes it's not and sometimes it looks like something that backed up out of the drain. Sorry for the visual but that's the truth!
We learned about juicing while at Sanoviv in 2007 for my cancer treatment, and we have been juicing ever since. There are many juicers on the market. The important thing is that it should be something easy to use and easy to clean, or you won't want to use it. Ours is a Breville Juicer Elite. I have said that it's so powerful it could grind a tree stump. I really like it. It comes in two sizes. My son and daughter-in-law have the smaller model and it works fabulously too.
There are a few things I always like to add to every batch:
- ginger, and something
I don't always have beets, but there are other things I can add like carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, celery, and many other things. There's an awesome site that gives many recipes for juicing for specific health reasons. That site is HealingDaily.com.
The hardest part is getting started, so take the first step, make it easy, and build from there. For a demo by Joe Cross from the movie "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" using this juicer, see here in my favorite videos.
Happy juicing, and CHEERS!
